Alessandro Bianchi is the organist of the Basilica di S. Paolo in Cantu , Italy . He was born in 1961 and studied at the Piacenza Conservatoire with Luigi Toja. He has played at most of the major European organ festivals and played in major cathedrals and churches on his extensive and frequent concert tours. He lives in Como near the Swiss border and has chosen to teach north of the border, at the Academy of Music in Lugano. He was educated in Milan , continued his studies in Basel among other places, and he has succeeded in establishing a rich musical scene in his home district that can boast of many rare historic organs.
